Metals We Accept
Aluminum Siding
Aluminum Siding is used as cladding on buildings and homes, valued for being lightweight, rust-resistant, and easy to work with. After removal, this siding is often stripped of nails or insulation before recycling. It’s one of the more common aluminum items found in renovation or demolition scrap.
Aluminum Rims
Aluminum Rims are lightweight wheels used on cars and trucks, often preferred over steel rims for better performance and aesthetics. After tire removal, these rims are valuable scrap due to their clean aluminum content. Some may have coatings or attachments that need to be removed before processing.
Old Sheet Aluminum
Old Sheet Aluminum includes various flat aluminum items such as panels, gutters, signs, and appliance panels. This category may contain painted or lightly contaminated materials but is still easily recycled. It’s collected in bulk and melted down to make new aluminum products.
Aluminum Cans
Aluminum Cans are one of the most commonly recycled consumer products, used for beverages and food. They are lightweight, easy to compress, and made from high-purity aluminum. Recycling cans saves energy and reduces waste, as aluminum can be repeatedly reused without loss of quality.
Irony Aluminum
Irony Aluminum is aluminum material that has non-aluminum attachments, such as screws, nails, or embedded steel. Examples include aluminum engine parts or frames with metal inserts. These mixed items require separation or special processing to recover the aluminum content, but they remain valuable in the scrap market.
Cast Aluminum
Cast Aluminum is produced by pouring molten aluminum into molds to make solid parts like engine components, cookware, and machinery housings. It’s heavier and more brittle than other aluminum forms. This material is recycled by melting and refining it into new cast or rolled aluminum products.
Aluminum Radiator
Aluminum Radiators are used in modern vehicles and HVAC systems. Made entirely of aluminum fins and tubing, they are lightweight and rust-resistant. Once drained and cleaned, these radiators are processed as high-grade aluminum scrap, contributing to efficient recycling in the automotive and construction industries.
Aluminum / Copper Radiators
These radiators combine aluminum fins with copper tubing and are found in HVAC systems and automobiles. This mixed-metal item is sorted and separated during recycling to recover the high-value copper and aluminum. Proper processing ensures efficient material recovery with minimal waste.
Extruded Aluminum
Extruded Aluminum is formed by forcing aluminum through a shaped die, creating items like window frames, door rails, and structural components. This clean, uniform material is highly recyclable and typically free of paint or other coatings, making it ideal for remelting into new aluminum profiles.
MLC (Mixed Low Copper)
MLC, or Mixed Low Copper, refers to aluminum scrap with minimal copper content, often consisting of painted or coated extrusions and mixed aluminum profiles. It’s commonly sourced from windows, doors, and light industrial applications. Though it may require cleaning, MLC is still valuable in aluminum recycling.
Aluminum Turnings
Aluminum Turnings are the small, curly scraps generated during the machining or milling of aluminum parts. These light, sometimes oily shavings must be collected and processed properly due to the risk of combustion. Despite their form, they are a recyclable aluminum source when kept clean and dry.
AL Thermo-pane
AL Thermo-pane refers to aluminum window frames that include insulated or double-pane glass. These are typically removed from buildings and require disassembly to separate the aluminum from glass and plastic. Once cleaned, the aluminum is processed as scrap, while the remaining materials are handled separately.
Aluminum Transformers
Aluminum Transformers are used in power systems and contain aluminum windings instead of copper. These are lighter and cheaper to produce, making them common in modern installations. When recycled, the transformer is disassembled to recover the aluminum coils and the steel housing.
Aluminum Plate
Aluminum Plate is a thick, flat aluminum sheet used in aerospace, marine, and industrial applications. Its solid, high-strength structure makes it valuable and easy to recycle. Once cut or scrapped, it’s collected and reprocessed into new sheet products or components.
Insulated Aluminum Wire
Insulated Aluminum Wire is used for electrical transmission and includes an aluminum core surrounded by a plastic or rubber insulation. This wire is lighter and more affordable than copper, often found in residential wiring or outdoor lines. Recyclers strip or granulate the wire to recover the aluminum.
