Metals We Accept

Sports Equipment

Sports Equipment can include metal-based items like golf clubs, bats, workout machines, and scooters. Many of these items contain aluminum, steel, or mixed metals. Although not traditional scrap, they’re still recyclable if broken down into their core metal components, reducing landfill waste.

Bicycles

Bicycles are made primarily of aluminum or steel and can also include rubber, plastic, and copper wiring from lights or electric assists. Recyclers strip them of non-metal parts, then process the frames, wheels, and other components to recover the valuable metals.

Pots & Pans

Pots & Pans often contain aluminum or stainless steel and sometimes copper bottoms. These kitchen items are recyclable if they’re all-metal and free from plastic or rubber coatings. Cast aluminum cookware, especially, is a valuable scrap item when clean and dry.

Power & Hand Tools

Power & Hand Tools contain a mix of steel, aluminum, copper wiring, and sometimes rechargeable batteries. These tools, once broken or outdated, are disassembled to recover scrap metals and safely remove electronic components or hazardous parts such as lithium-ion batteries.

Copper Tubing

Copper Tubing is commonly used in plumbing, heating, and refrigeration systems. It’s available in rigid or flexible form and is highly valued in recycling for its purity. Recyclers look for clean, uncoated tubing that’s free of solder or attachments for the highest return.

Snowblower

Snowblowers are machines used for clearing snow and contain a mix of steel, aluminum, copper wiring, and sometimes small engines. Once non-metal parts are removed, these machines are broken down for their scrap value and processed similarly to small machinery or appliances.

Lawnmower

Lawnmowers—both manual and motorized—contain scrap-worthy parts such as steel decks, aluminum engines, and copper wire in electric models. Recyclers strip away non-metal components like plastic wheels and handles, while the metal housing and motor parts are melted down for reuse.

Tin Cans

Tin Cans are actually made of steel with a thin tin coating and are used for packaging food and other goods. They are among the most common recyclable items in homes. Once cleaned, they’re processed in bulk and used to produce new steel products.

Air Conditioners

Air Conditioners include window, central, or portable units and contain aluminum, copper, steel, and compressors. These are high-value items due to their dense metal content and are carefully recycled to recover refrigerants, metals, and electric components while ensuring environmental compliance. (Must be free of freon)

Wrought Iron Fencing

Wrought Iron Fencing is made from heavy, decorative iron used in gates, railings, and property fencing. It is durable and rust-resistant, making it highly recyclable. Once removed, these fences are processed as heavy melt steel and reused in construction or manufacturing.

Radiators

Radiators are used in vehicles and buildings to transfer heat and are often made of copper, brass, or aluminum. They may be clean (metal only) or mixed with plastic and rubber parts. Recyclers sort them based on metal content to maximize value and reduce waste.
