Metals We Accept

Auto Cast

Auto Cast is a dense, iron-rich scrap material that primarily comes from automotive parts such as brake rotors, engine blocks, and other heavy cast components. It’s a valuable material in foundries due to its high melting point and consistency. Auto Cast is typically free of non-ferrous attachments and fluids.

Plate & Structural

Plate and Structural scrap consists of heavy-duty steel from industrial construction or demolition, including I-beams, steel plates, and girders. These materials are robust, thick, and durable, often used in buildings, bridges, or machinery. Recycling this type of steel helps conserve resources and reduces the need for new mining.

Heavy Melt (HMS)

Heavy Melt Steel (HMS) includes thick, heavy steel scrap like structural beams, pipe, and solid machinery components. It’s categorized into HMS 1 and HMS 2 based on density and processing standards. This scrap is often sourced from demolition or dismantling projects and is ideal for reprocessing in steel mills.

Steel Rims

Steel Rims are the metallic wheels found on cars and trucks, distinct from aluminum alloy rims. Heavier and more durable, steel rims are often recycled after tire removal. They’re a reliable source of clean, dense steel, commonly found in auto shops or salvage yards.

Rebar

Rebar, short for reinforcing bar, is a steel rod used in concrete construction to provide tensile strength. Commonly found in demolished buildings, bridges, and foundations, rebar is thick, ridged, and durable. When recycled, it’s cleaned and melted down to be reused in construction projects, reducing the need for virgin steel.

Cast Iron

Cast iron is a dense, brittle metal commonly used in old pipes, stoves, bathtubs, and machinery parts. Known for its high carbon content and ability to withstand heat, cast iron is frequently recycled in foundries to make new industrial components. It breaks rather than bends and is heavy to handle.

Machinery

Machinery scrap includes metal-heavy equipment and mechanical parts from industrial machines, agriculture, or construction tools. These often contain a mix of steel, iron, and non-ferrous metals. Recyclers will disassemble machinery to separate valuable components like motors and wiring before processing the heavier steel and cast elements.

A/C Units

Air Conditioning Units are a rich source of recyclable materials, including aluminum, copper, and steel. These appliances also contain compressors and coils that can be removed and recycled separately. Because they sometimes hold refrigerants, they must be processed carefully by certified recycling centers to avoid environmental harm. (Must be free of freon)

Tool Steel

Tool Steel is a high-strength, wear-resistant steel used to make cutting tools, dies, and drill bits. It contains elements like tungsten, molybdenum, or vanadium for added durability. When recycled, it’s valuable due to its composition and hardness, often re-melted for use in manufacturing new industrial-grade tools.

Steel Turnings

Steel Turnings are small, spiral-like scrap pieces produced during the machining process. These shavings or curls come from cutting or grinding steel and are usually oily or mixed with other debris. They’re collected in large volumes and recycled as bulk scrap for remelting and steel production.
