Metals We Accept

Bare Bright Wire

Bare Bright Wire is the highest grade of copper wire scrap. It consists of clean, uncoated, and unalloyed copper wire, typically stripped from electrical wiring. It must be free of tarnish or insulation and is often bright orange in appearance. This copper fetches premium prices due to its purity.

Copper Pipe

Copper Pipe is commonly found in plumbing systems and HVAC installations. It includes both rigid and flexible tubing, often recovered from home renovations or commercial demolitions. Recycled copper pipe is valuable because it is relatively pure, and it can be remelted and reused with minimal refining.

Copper Bus Bar

Copper Bus Bar is a thick, solid strip of copper used in power distribution systems. It’s often found in industrial electrical panels and substations, prized for its excellent conductivity. Because it’s typically uncoated and heavy, copper bus bar is a high-value scrap that’s easy to recycle into new components.

Roofing Copper

Roofing Copper comes from old flashing, gutters, downspouts, and other building features. It often has patina from weather exposure but retains a high copper content. Roofing copper is typically free of significant contamination and is an ideal candidate for recycling into new copper sheets or piping.

Aluminum/Copper Radiators

Aluminum/Copper Radiators are found in vehicles and HVAC systems. These components consist of copper tubing surrounded by aluminum fins, combining two valuable metals. Before recycling, radiators are usually drained and cleaned. This mixed-metal material is sorted and processed for efficient recovery of both aluminum and copper.

Copper Transformers

Copper Transformers are electrical devices found in power supplies, filled with tightly wound copper wire. These can range from small residential units to large industrial transformers. Recycling involves removing the steel casing and extracting the copper core, which is then processed into high-quality scrap for reuse.

Electric Motors

Electric Motors are found in household appliances, tools, and machinery. They contain copper windings encased in steel housings, making them a mixed-metal item. Recyclers strip them down to separate the valuable copper and ferrous materials. Motors are a common and profitable source of scrap for recycling facilities.

Alternators / Starters

Alternators and Starters are automotive parts that contain a mixture of steel, aluminum, and copper. Found under the hood of most vehicles, these components are removed and processed for their non-ferrous content. They’re compact but valuable due to their dense construction and copper windings inside.

Compressors

Compressors are used in refrigerators, air conditioners, and other cooling equipment. These heavy devices contain copper coils, sealed steel shells, and oil. Before recycling, compressors are drained of fluids. Once processed, they yield high-value scrap due to their copper and steel content, making them a staple in appliance recycling.

Brass

Brass is an alloy made primarily of copper and zinc, known for its gold-like appearance and resistance to corrosion. It’s commonly found in plumbing fixtures, keys, decorative hardware, and musical instruments. Brass is a sought-after recyclable due to its durability, weight, and relatively high copper content.

Brass Turnings

Brass Turnings are small shavings or curly scraps produced during the machining of brass components. Typically collected in manufacturing facilities, these turnings are free-flowing and may contain traces of oil. Despite their size, they carry significant value because of their high copper and zinc content.

Copper Brass Radiators

Copper Brass Radiators are most often found in older vehicles and machinery. They are composed of brass tanks and copper cores, making them heavier and more durable than modern aluminum versions. Due to the high metal content, these radiators are in demand at scrap yards for their recycling potential.

Brass Faucets

Brass Faucets are fixtures used in kitchens and bathrooms, typically made of solid brass with chrome or nickel coatings. These items often have small plastic or rubber parts, but the underlying brass is valuable. Recyclers strip these faucets down to recover the dense, corrosion-resistant metal.

Brass EDM Wire

Brass EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) Wire is a specialized brass wire used in high-precision industrial cutting processes. After use, this wire becomes scrap but remains valuable due to its consistent alloy content. It’s usually free from contamination and collected in neat spools or coils for recycling.

Brass Shells

Brass Shells refer to spent ammunition casings, typically from firearms. These casings are made from high-grade brass for durability and pressure resistance. Once fired and collected, they can be safely recycled—often after cleaning—to recover their valuable copper and zinc alloy content.

Bronze

Bronze is a copper-based alloy usually containing tin, and it’s known for its reddish-brown color and strength. Commonly used in sculptures, bearings, bushings, and musical instruments, bronze has excellent wear resistance. Recycled bronze is melted down and reused in both artistic and industrial applications.
